Sightseeing*
Bitumen roads make it easy to move around. There are cliffs, coves, islands, lighthouses, shipwrecks, stone ruins, and salt lakes. Don't miss the fury of the Southern Ocean in a winter storm!

Watersports

  • Swimming - many calm sandy beaches with clear water
  • Scuba Diving - reefs, islands, wrecks, crayfish, abalone
  • Snorkelling - reefs within Innes NP, starfish, fish, soft corals

Fishing*

  • Beach casting - mulloway, salmon, mullet, whiting, herring, garfish
  • Jetty - squid, mullet, garfish, whiting, flathead
  • Boat fishing - snapper, nannegai, morwong, whiting, snook

Surfing*
The site of state and national titles, and some of Australia's best surfing. There are breaks for all levels of experience. For some of the most challenging, try Chinamans, Pondalowie and West Cape.

Wildlife, marine life, flora*
Kangaroos, emus, dolphins, whales (winter), seals, crayfish, seadragons, rich variety of fish, soft corals, coastal and bush birds, wildflowers.

Bushwalking*
Trails range from full day to less than one hour return. Inland walkers experience wild life, heritage ruins, mallee, wildflowers. Coast trails have beaches, grand views, dolphins, whales, birds and flowers.

Birdwatching*
There is an abundance and diversity of birdlife. Discover rare species such as the Western Whipbird, Osprey, and Mallee Fowl.

Photography, painting and sketching
This is a region of grand vistas, sculptural rocks, dramatic moods of sea and sky, textural contrasts, clear light and fresh colours. The creative choices are yours!

Gourmet and home grown trail
Collect a 'Home Grown' brochure from the visitor centre at Minlaton or Kadina or SA Travel Centre. This gives the location of all of the local industries, aquaculture, farms etc who welcome visitors. You need to arrange visits to a number of these in advance.
